Welcome Center

Our Welcome Center is here to assist you in any way needed. Our friendly attendants will greet you with a smile, give you any information you request and gladly escort you to a Sunday School class, nursery, childrens department or a seat in the worship center.

Nursery

You can feel secure knowing that your child is being supervised by trained members of our church in the most modern facilities. We also utilize a state of the art digital paging system which discretely notifies parents if and when they are needed in the nursery department.

Children's Ministries

Your children will be involved in praise and worship music, Bible lessons, activities, crafts and prayer. Lessons and activities are designed to teach the children on their level and help them to grow spriritually. All of our Childrens Church workers are screened trained.

Youth Ministry

Welcome to the G.A.P. (God's Appointed People). Our mission is to win teens to Christ, build them up in the faith, and send them out as Christians committed to reaching their world for Christ. Our goal as a ministry is taken from Luke 2:52 - "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men." G.A.P. exists to help our teenagers grow in "wisdom" through group Bible Studies, "Stature" through recreation, "Favor with God" through worship, and "Favor with men" through service to others.

Our youth ministries include:

Teen Bible Study (T.B.S.) Sundays 9:30 am.
Outreach Tuesdays 6:30 pm.
Awana Trek (Jr. High) Wednesdays 6:30 pm.
Power Source (Sr. High) Wednesdays 7 pm.
Afterglow's Last Sunday of each month 7:30 pm.

Hearing Impaired Ministry

Each service is translated by trained interpreters. Our church also offers periodic sign language classes for those interested in learning this gift. This class is co-taught by our interpreters & our hearing impaired members.

Handicap Accessibility

Our facilities have been specially designed to accommodate the needs of those who utilize wheelchairs.

Van Ministry

This service is free of charge and serves the area spanning several miles from our church.

Awana® Bible Clubs

"Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" II Timothy 2:15

This ministry for children ages three years through high school is a international organization developed by Pastor Lance Latham and Art Rorheim of Chicago in 1950. Its foundation and purpose is to encourage Bible study and Scripture memorization for all ages. AWANA also includes activities such as: local and national Olympic games, Bible quizzing competitions and multiple fun activities and outings. Our charter number is 114. This ministry has been a model to many churches who have begun AWANA.

Music Ministry

Music is a powerful medium used to reach people. That is why music is an important part of the worship services here at Hunter. We have a blended style of music in our worship services, which includes: Traditional hymns, Praise & Worship Choruses, Southern Gospel, Gospel and Contemporary.

Podcasting

Podcasts of all the messages are available free of charge on our podcast page. If you would like to have a cassettee or CD copy of a particular message, please contact the church office at 423.543.1381.

Daycare & Learning Center

A state-licensed learning center operates on our campus. Directed by church and staff member Geneva Norris, this daycare offers top-quality care and Bible-based teachings to 110 children ages six weeks to twelve years.

Seniors' Ministry

Our senior adults are an active group, ministering to one another, as well as reaching out to others in our community. Some of their ministry activities include:

Monthly Meetings: a time of prayer and fellowship

Senior Adult Meal program: delivering meals to shut-ins in cooperation with our local Senior Citizens Center

Senior Choir: singing on special occasions

Annual Senior Celebration: a weekend of guest speakers and musicians, dinner fellowship, special recognitions

Trips & Outings: planned during monthly meetings, our seniors take trips to many different places and enjoy attending concerts, revivals, shopping trips.

Women's Ministry

Knowing that God created each of us with different talents and abilities, our Women's Ministry works to create an environment welcoming women of all ages and stations of life. Through activities designed to grow us spiritually and to draw us closer as a family, we learn to define who we are by discovering who we are in Christ.
