Women on Mission® members are women who participate in ongoing small groups, through individual involvement, by attending missions events, or by participating in a missions project.
Small Group Involvement Two Women on Mission small groups exist at Hunter First and meet on different days and times. Women on Mission meets on the first Thursday of the month at 7PM. The JOY group meets on various Wednesdays at member homes. Watch the church bulletin for times and locations.
Missions Promotion The WOM groups also help to promote missions giving by keeping the church educated about the Cooperative Program and individual missionaries that we support. They do this throughout the year and for special offerings such as the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions.
Missions Events
A missions event creates greater missions awareness in the church.
Weekend retreats, weeks of prayer, celebration experiences, even missions fairs, bring all women of the church together to celebrate what God is doing in their lives, in their Women on Mission groups, and in the world.
These experiences move women to greater missions involvement through the use of worship, music, speakers, testimonies, presentations of the gospel, seminars, missions presentations, demonstrations, drama, prayer, and fellowship.
Ministry Projects Hands-on participation in ministry projects changes lives and attracts people to missions work. Whether the project is a long-term local ministry or a short-term volunteer missions trip, the results are more Christians involved in missions work and more lives touched by the gospel message.
